About Mostly Medicinals

Mostly Medicinals is a small scale family business. Our mission is to help create beautiful, sustainable and useful landscapes. We strive to grow historically medicinal plants that are particularly attractive in the garden. These plants are also herbs from both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (T.C.M.). Most of the plants grown here are harder to find in the nursery trade. There is also a representation of threatened plants, and some native medicinals such as Pearly Everlasting and Gumweed. In a small way we hope to help alleviate the pressure of unethical wild crafting on native plant populations. All plants deserve respect.

Mostly Medicinals continues to grow in its third season. This year we have added a few new plants customers have asked for such as Borage. We have also added a few natives such as Pearly Everlasting and Fire Weed.

Our plants are “Groovy Grown.” This is our way of describing our sustainable practices. We use organic fertilizers and sprays (if needed), mostly organic soils and passive solar heat. Also, the seeds are dominantly organic and from local sources. Lastly, all plants are well rooted and acclimated for current weather conditions.

Our passion for medicinal plants stems from ten years of research and hands-on experience. Over time our gardens have been experimental plots for growing medicinals. We are not however herbalists. The information we provide on medicinal qualities only hint at their uses. We do not intend any persons to ingest these herbs without professional guidance. Please contact your personal care provider before taking any herbal remedies. We do hope that herbalists and the like will enjoy taking responsibility for their own medicine, as it helps our community to be more self sufficient.
